Ashok grows into his role as a hero and leader, holding on to this honor while learning things aren’t always as black and white as he was trained to believe. We learn more about Thera’s mysterious past and the action doesn’t let up. By the end, we’re treated to still more revelations that only whetted my appetite for the next and presumably final installment.That would be my only criticism: this is apparently a trilogy, so the matter of the House is wrapped up, but I almost wish there was still another book dealing with the subject. Gutch is becoming my stand-out favorite and easily worth a book of his own, and Kira the assassin had potential and could have gone in some interesting directions. But apparently Correia is trying to err on the other side of the Martins and Jordans of the world and their bloated series. A sensible decision then.

Mr. Correia knocks it out of the park again! Love the continuation of the tale of Ashok. He is always a must buy, can never go wrong.

Nothing special in this one. Ashik, the indestructible protagonist with convenient magical power takes on ever bigger monsters and conquers. There isn't as much intrigue and plotting in the second book but there is a bit more character development, to the point that Keta is also now an indestructible super powerful being with convenient magic powers. So now they're a potentially cute couple. It's a tasty cheeseburger of a fantasy book. I'll likely read it again on a work trip, especially if the audio version isn't ridiculously priced.

Truthfully, I had given up on reading a sequel to Book 1. Delighted it finally happened. My hope is that Book 3 won't take as long. Guaranteed great read for fantasy sword play and wizardry fans.

This is the second book in the series and it picks up where the last one left off. Excellent pacing and a fantastic story made it hard to put down. Great character development of the main character as well as many of the secondary characters. I can really see how the events are changing them. Can't wait for the next (final?) book in the series.

This is the author's most complex series to date. Fans of his other series will enjoy because the book has plenty of action. Read it and decide for yourself.

Larry Corriera at the top of his game!!! I even enjoyed this book more than Nemesis which was my favorite of the Monster Hunter series. A fascinating world being created with it's own rules and monsters and gods to fight against the hero. Highly recommended. I just wish the next book was out already.

This was excellent writing from start to finish. It is really trite to say that the author "brought the characters to life". However, that is what Larry Correia did...to Ashok, Thera and Jagdish. I am anticipating salivating over the next installment.

Pleasure and work are two sides of the same coin--you cannot have one, without the other. It is not surprising that this work would ignite very strong emotions since it cuts to the deapest level of the conscious and unconscious mind, to the basic elements of the human organism.The premise that human being are sexualy repressed by institutions, individuals, economic, and political systems an as a means of control and domination and that the resulting internalized energy manifests itself in emotional and physical illnesses in the individual is not such a far fetched idea today as it was at the time Reich puplished this work.Reich does not advocate a free for all sexual life style, quite contrary. He is talking and encouraging a healthy sexual life style based on mutual respect and unconditional love. Not a manipulative, controlling, and dominating relationship driven by self interest.It has been said that there is nothing in this work to go by. That there are no solutions. That is not the case. He clearly describes the harmfull consequinces of this repression and thereby gives the reader examples of what not to do. Modern research has validated much of his work and any one who has the interest and an open mind can see, on an almost daily basis, what our sexual repression leads to in human behavior.Enough said, good book, excellent ideas, and much food for though.

This relatively small-sized book contains material more all-encompassing than its title would suggest. It develops an explanation of the natural purpose of genital orgasm within our lives as individuals, and for humanity as a whole, in the form of a "scientific biography", where the reader not only begins to understand Reich's vision of the true nature of natural sanity in our lives, but is also given a firsthand account of the setting within which that vision was developed. This setting includes the rise of fascism between the World Wars in Central Europe, in addition to the development at the same time of the psychiatry of Sigmund Freud.I would recommend it mostly to professionals in areas of study related to sociology, psychology and psychiatry, but also to anybody interested in how life works. There are some great clues here...some incredible dysfunctional-culture busting clues.Its downside is that it can become highly technical, using the specialized language of early 20th Century psychoanalysis. Also note that it is a translation from the original text written in German.But it all adds up to something very important if you are into challenging yourself: top-notch material from a dedicated author.
